I wish I had invested more in medical research when I was prime minister
Ingvar CarlssonFormer Prime Minister
Medical research for health needs to become a higher national priority in order for Sweden to be in the forefront of life science and for patients to have access to the best possible care.
Research!Sweden was founded in 2010, but its story begins long before that. Watch a seven-minute film about the knowledge creation, social entrepreneurship and collective intelligence behind Research!Sweden and the think tank ”Agenda for Health and Prosperity”, highlighting our impact and key achievements.
Our vision for life science year 2030
Sweden is a global key player within life science that attracts top talent.
Sweden is a leader within healthcare, putting new knowledge and competence into practice.
The healthcare has a coordinated mission to document relevant information that contributes to a national platform for research and development.
Sweden is a magnet for life science investments.
Agenda for health and prosperity 2026: Attention!
The world is undergoing profound and rapid change. Geopolitical tensions, trade policy uncertainty and threats to democracy and academic freedom have all, in different ways, made it more challenging to advance medical research, development and quality-driven healthcare. In a new report, the members in our think tank “Agenda for health and prosperity”, contribute with an analysis on how new challenges affect universities, healthcare, life science companies and patient organisations. We also describe the actions these organisations take to deal with the new challenges. In order for necessary changes to occur in a coordinated and effective way, we have collectively identified 10 areas of responsibility for the incoming government. Read the full report here (in Swedish) or a one-pager here (in English).
The think tank “Agenda for Health and Prosperity” publishes annual reports and, on occasions, films. Se the reports here.
Precision health – The way forward!
Healthcare is facing a paradigm shift. Thanks to precision health, we are able to get better prevention and diagnostics, more effective treatments, increased survival rates and shorter hospital stays.
Read about the possibilities with precision health, as well as the prerequisites that need to be in place to take advantage of progress, in our one-pager. We have made a short movie with 10 examples of ongoing projects within precision health in Sweden. Feel free to watch and share:
