The award is given to Professor Matti Sällberg as he, with his extensive knowledge in the field of vaccines, committed himself tirelesslyto assessing, advising and informing about the development and combating of Covid-19, alongside with his research on vaccine.

Mikael Dolsten, research, development and medical director for Pfizer

Honorary award in 2021

One of this year’s honorary awards is given to Mikael Dolsten for successfully developing an effective vaccine against covid-19 in collaboration with his team at Pfizer and with BioNTech in an exceptionally short time.

Ing-Marie Larsson, chair, National Association of Anasthesia

Honorary award in 2021

The other of this year’s honorary awards is given to the National Association of Anesthesia and Intensive care, as representatives of all of Sweden’s ICU nurses who stood in the eye of the storm during the covid-19 pandemic. Together with doctors and other care professionals, theytook care of the most seriously ill in Sweden every day.

Richard Bergström, Sweden’s vaccine coordinator

Award in the political field in 2021

The award is given to Richard Bergström for taking the responsibility to make vaccines available for Sweden in a crisis situation, and for tirelessly handling challenges along the way to ensure that the population could protect themselves against covid-19 as quickly as possible.
